Ponciano T. Tovar, 79, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025.  Ponciano enjoyed playing bingo, but his passion was doing his carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Angelita Tovar; his brothers, Ramon Tovar and Martin Tovar; and his wife, Yolanda Gonzales Tovar.  He is survived by his family; his daughters, Liza Gonzales of Corpus Christi,  Irmalinda De Leon of Portland, Betty (Rick) Glory of Corpus Christi, Cindy Tovar, and Alice Tovar of Sinton; his son, Rene (Elissa) Tovar of Sinton;, his brothers, Ruben (Margarita) Tovar and Leandro (Carmen) Tovar of Sinton; his sisters, Santos Pierce  and Laya Alaniz of Sweetwater; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will held from 4p.m. to 9p.m. with a holy rosary being recited at 7p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sinton with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant.  Interment will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton.
