Leticia "Leti" Cuellar

Leticia “Leti” Cuellar passed away on April 30, 2024, at 62 years young. Leticia was born on October 13, 1961 in Sinton, Texas to Antonio and Maria Jesus Cuellar. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Maximo Cuellar Sr. She is survived by three sisters and one brother: Dolores (Alberto) Sanchez, Jose Angel (Alice) Cuellar, Inez (Victor) Garcia, and Amparo (Maximo) Benavidez. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews will miss her loving teasing, as well as many other relatives and friends whose lives she’s touched from whose hearts she will never be forgotten. Leti lived her life always happy and full of life. She spent every day doing what she loved: singing, dancing, coloring, and especially eating. There was no food she did not like, except for maybe squash. She also spent her days attending the Taft Coastal Plains Community Center for many years, which she loved. It was at the Coastal Plains where she met her second family, filled with many friends and those that cared for her deeply. Leti also loved going to mass and helping out around her church. She was a devoted member of the Guadalupanas for many years, and eagerly self appointed her services to the sacristans on Sunday mornings and after mass each week. She most especially loved Our Lady of Guadalupe, and is remembered to devotedly recite the rosary during mass. Leti believed in Jesus above all, her faith and devotion in Christ in her life brings peace to her family, as we know she has met her Maker and Blessed Mother. Leti spent her life spreading love and happiness through her actions and words, and continues this mission now with Southwest Transplant Alliance as she gave the gift of life to those in need of organ transplant.

Leti will be missed by her family, her community, and her church dearly, and her impact could never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Southwest Transplant Alliance in Leti’s honor. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 2 PM to 9 PM with a holy rosary being recited at 7 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Edroy. Interment will follow in the Edroy Cemetery.
