Dolores Cuellar "Lolita" Sanchez

Dolores Cuellar Sanchez "Lolita" of Edroy, Texas was peacefully called to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born to Antonio and Maria Jesus (Trigo) Cuellar on September 12, 1938.

Loilita has several passions and always stayed busy filling her life with the things she loved - arts and crafts, visiting friends, and time spent with her two granddaughters and three great grandchildren brought her such joy. She also delighted in writing and sending cards in the mail. Anyone and everyone that had the pleasure of knowing and loving Lolita, received a handwritten card sometime in their lives. Loilta was the postal clerk in Edroy, Texas for 11 years, before being promoted to postmaster. She would serve as such for the next 15 years, before retiring to welcome the next chapter of her life: becoming grandmother. This she would say was her greatest accomplishment and adventure. She was very active in her church, Our Lady Of Guadalupe, as president of the Guadalupanas. She also served as a Eucharistic minister and a religious educator for many years. She passionately worked in the church, and was a devout catholic. She loved the Lord she served and had a devotion to our Blessed Mother, La Virgen De Guadalupe.

Lolita married the love of her life, Alberto Sanchez on August 26, 1962. They had the greatest love story for 62 long years and were inseparable until the very end. All who knew "Beto & Loilta " knew they shared a love like no other. Together they welcomed and raised a son, Angel Sanchez on September 11, 1966, whom they had long prayed for. Later in life, Lolita would instantly dote on her two granddaughters and three great grandchildren, to anyone who would listen. Her family was her "pride and joy" as she would say.

Lolita is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Maximo Cuellar, her sister, Leticia Cuellar, and her son, Angel Sanchez. She is survived by the love of her life Alberto Sanchez, Belinda Rodriguez, whom she always thought of as a daughter, granddaughters, Adrianna (Derrick) Jaime and Esmeralda Sanchez, three great grandchildren Mia, Emma and Micah. She is also survived by her siblings, Jose Angel (Alicia) Cuellar, Amparo (Maximo) Benavidez, Inez (Victor) Garcia, and her sister in law, Hortencia Cuellar. Lastly, Lolita is survived by her provider and friend of 12 years, Carmen Garcia. On behalf of the Sanchez and Cuellar family we extend our deepest appreciation to Carmen for her many years of dedication, service and friendship. In her long and beautiful lifetime, Lolita made many many friends, smiled and laughed often, loved greatly and was tremendously loved by others.

We are thankful to our lord for the time we had with her. She will be missed immensely and loved always.
