It is ​with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Arnoldo Cavasos Gutierrez on July 21, 2024. He peacefully passed away in League City, Texas at the age of 88 years old. Arnoldo was born on September 28, 1935 in Odem, Texas to Eliseo and Angelita Gutierrez. Arnoldo's life was a testament of faith, love and devotion, particularly to his Catholic faith and family.

Arnoldo was a dedicated and hard worker. He always made sure his family was taken care of, and he took great care of his late wife, Lucy Gutierrez, during her lengthy illness. One of his greatest joys was being around his family and friends whom he greatly treasured. Many marveled at his incredible memory recalling the smallest detail of his lifelong experiences. He thoroughly enjoyed listening to music; particularly Vicente Fernandez, and he knew every lyric of every song, and sang them beautifully. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by his two children, Arnold Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Nelda (David) Castaneda of League City, Texas, his grandchildren, Gabriela (Bryce) Mansfield, Marcus Castaneda, David Anthony Castaneda, and MariAna Jimenez, his great grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.

While our hearts mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. 

​

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM. A rosary service will be held from 7 to 8 PM.

 

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, in Odem, Texas.

 

Burial will follow as Arnoldo will be laid to eternal rest at San Pedro Cemetery in Odem, Texas.
